Just voicing my opinion on the current NSWPro point scoring. After two ProBass rounds someone who has fished both rounds and caught no fish at either(last place at both)would be ranked higher than some one who has only attended one but finished a respectable 5th or 6th.I just cant seem to justify someone who has not caught a fish ranking higher than someone who has been a top finisher. Is it about the money or am i wrong? Remembering that only 1st and 2nd get money or a prize back for the effort. The less people at a comp the more points for last place.I still believe that a top two finish should gain direct qualification into the Grand final, but then they may not enter another round for the rest of the year which would mean less cash(profit).Again is it about the money or am i wrong?I beleive that there should be equal points between every posistion wether it be 1st and 2nd or 2nd last and last. But thats my opinion. What do you think?

yep you are right Gregg,
like I said, wasn't for not trying but he just doesn't listen so I & others, don't bother any more. He's to worried about making sure it's different to other comps instead of just adopting parts of the systems that are already proven.:munky: What do ya do???
still people breaking rules & he does nothing about it, (last comp at lake Mac, reliable scorce told me he seen a dead fish wighed & passed) what are the rules there for, just a guideline or something?
& whats with people returning to the weigh in with more than required in thier wells?
how rediculous is it that you can no longer qualify for a final? :ranting2:
like you say it just rewards the ones who do all the rounds instead of actually encoraging people to join in, it's just reduced the numbers cause if you can't do all or most of the rounds you have no goal to achieve & the prize moey is chopped that hard for both the rounds & the final its not worth it any way.
maybe do home rounds & some Dams but thats it.

hang on a tick, I might be a bit behind here.

But has direct qualification for the top 2 placed finishers from a round now been removed?
Thats crazy! What incentive is there for the casual entrant to go ?

I fished 2 NSWPTF events last year, and was planning to do the same again this year. I simply don't have the time to travel all over the state and fish 10 comps (let alone ABT or anything else) a year. I pin my hopes on fishing the ones I have a realistic shot at doing well in. Now I can't even do that ?

and if what you were saying about someone who comes last twice is in front of someone who came 5th, then thats crazy too !

G'Day Guys,

It's all messed up, I can't fathom it, I can't do all the rounds to qualify so that means I might as well not do any and concentrate on the other series. I don't know what's goin on at HQ but somethins goin on, let me know if ya find out, too many things to fix I reckon.

beats,i can vouch for the dead fish weighed at lake maquarie as i saw it with my own eyes.He has some kind of cage for sending the fish to the bottom.(hiding it).I believe it may work for deep caught bass but bream, come on.A bream may take up to 5mins to float back to the surface after being buried in the bottom at 5 meters. After that who's fish was it is anyones guess? To do the ten rounds would cost you $550 and then another$????? to enter the grand final for the 50+/1 chance to win maybe $1500.Better of taking your chances in the big league and throwing all your eggs in one basket and having a shot at one of the majors run by the ABT.$5000 and $10000 respectively for bass and bream. But then you don't get to fish with your dad, mother, sister, brother, mate, wife, son, daughter or who ever you desire so i guess it's a catch twenty two situtation.I believe that maybe top 5 from each round get a GF ticket and lets face it a top five these days when there are 50+ anglers is a top effort. Then if there are double ups(same angler finishing in top 5 more than once) or blokes not going, numbers made up by the next highest overall point scores giving everyone some kind of incentive to go to as many as possible. This would mean as long as you attend you are a chance at a GF ticket, even at the last round which i think would be a massive attendance as it would be one last chance for every one to qualify.(probably even be bigger than the grandfinal).Last bass round at morpeth only attracted 24 teams which i believe is a indercation. How many are going to be at the last couple? There isn't even a rule guide explaining qualification so it's little wonder people don't know what's going on.Another story i heard about a team going into a no go zone at the last bass round recieved a slap on the wrist and told not to go there again.Once again if rules were made clear then there is no exception.DISQUALIFIED,simple.

Thats it, rules are rules & if they are broken, what ever they may be, for what ever reason, they should be treated as what they are, if it can't swim away, it doesn't count - if ya prefish during a ban, You can't fish - if ya late back, you loose points - if your outa bounds - & so on if it's in the rules it must apply (no matter what).
I know Chris is just too nicer guy, but thats how it has got to be, otherwise whats the point, as it affects everyone else if 1 person or a team breaks them.

Spot on lads.....bream gf for instance.....unawares of the cut off limit i prefished with some good results from end of both breakwalls...only to be told at briefing they were way out of bounds...that was cool until another angler told me he fished there most of the first day....he didnt do much good but thats not the point...when i raised this issue with admin of nswptf the reply was no-one saw him.nothn against the angler here lads....just that like ya said rules are rules.....possibly the only way to enjoy some fun tournys now is through well organized clubs & social days....maybe a seperate circuit or a whole new concept????I remember the anticipation and exitment of my first nswptf event at morpeth, the whole event was run smooth with little fuss and a relaxed atmosphere, anglers were keen to share tips and techniques.....a local lure maker even threw lures to competitors on the river during sessions...do ya think this sort of thing can/would happen again????I am not sure....but im the same as you greg...troll up the williams at the end of the month....:alcho meter: :hump: :puke: :Drinkin:
