To keep us occupied untill they decide when the next pro bream is on and not to waste the time taken to check the forums for new dates share your funniest or interesting ways youve had to land a bream(or any fish for that matter)

Mine is a time on a house boat, a hammer head (small) took everything overboard, line rod reel the lot! about 30 mins later while useing a lure for flat head, i hooked the line the fish was on and bought both up, shark first then rod and reel second.:shark:

this thread could go all year whilst waiting for the next pro bream to be announced:luck:

i once bought a new nigger stick and centrepin was out testing it to see if i had the flaot set right with a bare hook,( mustad panfish in a green colour) was weighted fine so started winding flatout to get it up and put some bait on it when a 40cm nigger grabbed the hook was a bit of a surprise but very welcome!

My wife and I were fishing in one of the lakes at Dunbogan where she caught more than me and never lets me forget it! She had cast out from the tinnie fishing close to shore into some good looking trees with lower branches half in the water. (You know that women can't really cast.) She got a bite and next minute we were treated to the sight of a bream rising vertically out of the water for some 8 to 10 feet. She had somehow cast over one of the tree branches. Landed the fish but this is one that I have not let her forget. How sweet it is!
PS If anyone out there recognises who we are from this story for Pete's sake dont let her know I posted this or my life will be less than good for some time.

when i was about 17 i used to go down to apple tree bay and fish off the wharf there at night and catch good size bream.....one day a mate came with me and i let him use one of my rods.we caught a few good bream but when the sun started to come up me and my mate were about 3 mtrs away from our rods, which were laying on the wharf against those big rings to tie your boat up to....anyway my rod my mate was using went tap tap and i said go get closer,he said not yet as he was lazy, then all of a sudden rod was gone...it was getting deeper and deeper as i thought to myself should i jump in after it.5 secs later it was gone......i was pissed off hey......

30 mins later i got a bite on my rod, then i was thinking this has some weight about it,and you wouldnt believe it i caught a nice bream on the hook but my sinker got jammed against my first runner of the tip of my rod (the one that went for a swim)we got the bream off but my other rod was snagged by this stage.....not to woorried about the fish that stole my rod but at least i got my rod and reel back......

another time i was fishing down at the oyster leases and i caught this massive breaam(58cm) and realised my net was missing.....it must have blown out while driving the boat and i had to land this fish by scooping it up with a bucket but the fish was sooo big it only just fit in.....

Fly fishing for Trout in Lakes in Victoria.

Hooked a jumping trout in the tail on a fake cast!

Using 4lb tippet. Took ages to bring in, 5 1/2 pound Rainbow.

Also same trip. Got to the bank. Dropped the tippet in the water about 2 foot away while i stripped of some line off, getting ready to cast. Next thing i see my pile of line start moving towards the centre of the lake. Nice 3lb Rainbow......And they say Fly Fishing is hard!!:rolling laughter:

When i was commercial fishn once out nth east of lord howe island i took refuge at a little reef called elizibeth reef. All sorts of nastys and temperate and tropical fish abound in this pristine region and over 4 days me n crew had a ball c&r all manner of species.I also enjoy some surfn and couldnt resist a nice left hander peeling off one of the many gutters dr5aining the main reef.So off i went 600miles east of foster on my trusty board 2 enjoy some quick barrels when i paddle across a large gutter i felt a sharp tug on my leggy.I absolutly crapped myself and stroked so hard for thew closest exposed reef.Upon scrambling out of the brine i was amazed 2 find a flute mouth still attached to my legrope with its mouth firmly clamped down.I shook it off and got a few waves before a very large tiger convinced me this was a bad spot for a surf.Middlton and elizabeth ar great unique places in the world but maybe not the best spot for a surf!!!!!!!:shark: kmay post a story bout my adventures out there and some of the weird n wonderful s from those regions.....stay tuned.....
