Nathan, My primary outfit is a TCurve Deep Jig 400 mated to a Spheros 14000 and 80lb Suffix Jig Braid. Secondary is an Avet MXJ, 30 lb line, on a yet to be determined rod.

Flatrock,

Have you found that the fish have been fair and few between this year compared to last year?

Also what is it actually like to jig in winter time out off Sydney with Jimmy?

Cheers

in winter jigging for kings fire up bigtime...winter is the time of year for the 10kg to 25kg fish...It depends on how many people go on the day if there is 8 people it will prob be bout $110,,,,6 will prob be $120.....This year has been good there has been days where there was 40 fish caught and in between 10 to 20 fish each outing but has has dropped now,the only time it will fire is prob may to sept....

Thanks for the reply flatrock.

I know the big fish school up on the wider reefs but wondered if they were more prolific last year than they had been in previous years.

Maybe I should have gone out earlier to jig. Ahh well there is always somewhere up and down the coast to jig for kings.

Cheers

Hi Nath,

99cm....Nice fish. :ohhh yeah:

I went out with Leo aka Scorpio on the 20/5 and only managed one king just on legal and was busted off by a big king as soon as it hit. The damn braid busted at the tip :ranting2: , I guess from wear and tear as the silicon guides are fine, but i hope to get out on the long weekend for retrobution.

Cheers,

Ian
