what size boat

hi guys this i my first post i have done alot of land based fishing and now i want 2 get into game fishing what size boat do i need of sydney

4.5m minimum. It really depends what sort of game your after, are you just chasing kingies around the heads or are you wanting to do runs to the shelf?? In which case you would want something a little bigger infact quite a bit bigger. I have a little 3.9m aluminium which has seen some sizeable kings come over the side!

sydney can get some nasty weather happening sometimes so id be looking a minimum of 5m
if you want to do it seriously i would be looking 6m plus.

i fish a 5.5m which is fine but some days i wish it were 6 and up ; )

Like Colin has said about 5.5m to 6m, unless you have ben driving boats for years i would not go out in anything smaller than that. I do the trip on low swell days in a 5m, but the forecast much be watched for days prior, and i always go out knowing there are other people there that day!

On the other hand mates have seen 4m tiller steers out at Browns on occasions so anything is possible!
