:Dynamite: :onfire: ocean world is best early morning and late afternoon, but dosnt hold squid at all any more, david butttttfeild gave that spot away when he made his dvd kingfish secrets since then it has been smashed hard buy everyone...i have seen people there at night and early morning inside the circle of that little bay...ocean world is pretty much my backyard to squid and i have seen it drop lower and lower in quantities with people forever in there and people never give it a chance to hold squid for months....
okies koolz!!
so not much squid around there any more??
Hi Whytri,
There are still plenty of good spots to catch squid within a few minutes of the the aquarium.
Try around any spot that is well lit up at night and you'll be in with a chance.
Squid have a tendency to show up pretty much anywhere!
Mate just move around the harbour and you will find plenty of squid spots....we caught 23 squid in under a hour on Saturday....just gotta find the right spot that is firing well for that day

hey flat rock
mate dont worry about netic...you just keep catching those massive kings.....leave them 65cm kings for netic......he should change his name to the exterminator.....as he always gets the rats......i dont think i have seen netic catch one over85cm lately........out of all the fishing forums everyone thinks that netic is the king king.....not me....maybe if your after rats.....but anyone can catch rats ......even i could if i wanted to...but i dont....
keep doing what you do best flat rock and catch some more stonkers for us to look at

Thanks mate....The real challenge is land base fishing for big kings, fishing for big kings off the rocks is what you would really wanna achive especially in sydney or northern beaches....its more heart pumping catching fish from the stone because you can hook up to anything and when you get a big king from the rock its definetlly worth having a fosters bitter beer over it hahah cheers mate talk soon....

Flat Rock....first of all mate i have nothing but respect for Landbase King fishos....Its the hardest thing to do and from what i have seen you do it well..I have some good friends which are Well known landbased guys and i have seen the diffuculties they go through to land the hoodlums they get...
I didnt keep the 23 squid that i caught...i handed them out to friends which in turn caught kings with them.....i only actually used 7 of them....
Most of my kings are released.....95% of them actually...so when it comes to keeping up the stocks in our waterways im a big fan of it....
Wayneo....I dont know where your comment came from...i still considered you a mate which i met on these forums but obviously its not the case...
Mate if anyone is the exterminator it is you..atleast i dont kill 30kg jews
Everyone who knows me knows that i rarely if ever take fish home....my crew takes a few fish per trip and thats it...i dont fish for food i fish for fun...
I have never claimed to be the "king King"...people ask me for advice and i give it...and trust me mate....my largest this year hasnt been 85cm...i dont post all my reports...easpecially the ones from down south as liners seem to kill and area when i do.
If anything it is you that claims to be the "jewking" mate a real jew fisho doesnt need to spend 3 days on the water to get a jew...( not that i know much about jews) but it took Chris ( Sydfish) 20 minutes to show me a few spots and a few ways to fish and guess what....i had 2 jews in 90 minutes...
And my interest now is definately in fishing for Yellowfin Tuna, although i love kings i love YFT more....the kings im chasing i do so until YFT come on...then i will show you some fish Wayneo....make your jews look like babies....

Not in any great numbers yet mate....Im very good friends with people like Hov from Allie Hunter charters and when they tell me they are hear it is then i will go and chase them.
And plus for the next month or so i have to be within 1 hour of home as my wife is due to give birth.....fishing aint more important then that

oh i work at fow and we are in contact with all the fish charters and they said they have been on for the last 2 weeks..
Possibly...but as i said....cant afford to be at browns when the mrs is due to give birth....
I have heard of some nice yellowfin captures but not in big numbers....in june, on allie hunter we catch over 15 yft per day....
Currently it is alot harder work to go around and find those sorts of numbers and to have consistent numbers like that, Where in June/July/Auugust rarely is there a day without a good bag of Yellowfin...
But hey i could be wrong and if i am great...means i can get to chasing them as soon as the baby is born....
Thanks for the info
come on netic know need to have a stab.
yellow fin tuna fishing is great and i think everyone has respect for yellowfin but if my memory serves me correct you were struggling last season to break the 30kg mark and i highly doubt they would make a 35kg plus jew look like a baby.
mate i honestly love fishing for jew and if your serious about fishing for jew you got to put in the hours and not necessarily waiting and soaking baits but fishing specific times of the tide hard and then waiting for the next prime time, and if you got the time you increase your chances.
as you would know it is very different to fishing for kings so horses for coarses.
i personally enjoy all types of big fish fishing but the holy grail for most fisherman is marlin and mulloway
peace and goodluck with the birth of your expecting baby

Hi james.
Very true mate...my biggest last year was about the 30kg mark...Last year was my first year really chasing YFT Tuna....And we did manage a couple of days where we got over five specimens per trip, This season is going to be a whole lot better.
I will be going out with people like Hovig who were averaging 15 YFT per session, His largest last year was 65kg......my goal this year is to break the 50kg mark.......And dont forget James we did manage a 200kg Plus Mako last year which would eat a 30kg Jew for breakfast.....
Very true in saying horse for coarses but Wayneo had a stab at me first mate, You know me, I dont start trouble and hate being involved in it but when someone has a stab you gotta stab back.
This thread seems to have now become a chest pumping session which wasnt the intention of the thread so i think we should get back to the original reason for the post.
