Catch Yakkas there and fish the first few hours of the run in, use live Yakkas, at evening time, big Jews come thru there. THere is a drop off roughly where that boat is, and you may get done, but weve caught our fair share of fish there.
ALternativel for smaler jews you can sue prawns as bait, seems to do the trick, peeled is good too.

I have caught flatties there on powerbaits etc. Brown Pumpkinseed has been good to me there.

It's very hit and miss, and often crowded.

As previously said, not a bad place for yakkas, and good for jews at night using live squid/yakka.

When spinning, i'll sooner walk/wade the sandflats to the east of the bridge for a few flatties. Again, a bit inconsistant, but at least i get some exercise! Where sandles or like if you do....a few rays about sometimes.

Go early in the morning, as the southerly usually comes up after lunch and makes life difficult.

Cheers

Hi Guys im new to this forum and would like to say that I enjoy reading everything posted up on here, always full of useful info.

I went to this wharf couple days ago and picked up a nice 40cm squid on the first cast using prawns (no jig) and a 30cm bream. A few good bites after that and few small fish but nothing to brag about.

Clifton has been producing of late and still is, the Kings are slowly moving offshore but there are still some Pelagics swimming around, like Watsons Leaping Bonito's and others, the Salmon will be making an appearance soon in numbers. Other land based spots you can try without giving secret spots away are, Blues Point, right in the bay are big Bream if you walk right around the point. Under the Spit bridge, but use floats as its snaggy if you cast far. Balmoral has been doing good too. Others may have other spots too.

Went out to Clifton Gardens on Friday night bout 2 hours before high tide but fishing wasnt good at all.....

Only caught two throwback bream....There is alot of seaweed there and could feel the hook getting caught in there a fair bit....

Had lots of burley out but couldnt seem to get the fish interested...High tide came in and absolutely no bites whatsoever....

Can anybody tell me if I was doing anything wrong that night or if it was just a one off??
