Aquaman is learning to catch bait
Default Tuesday on the harbour

Quintrex
The burley worked a treat!!!
Went out towards wedding cakes got there about 6:30am last Tuesday and damn ferries in peak hour going by started to drift intowards the channel!!!
So headed towards the shore and anchored up just on the yellow bouy. So if your looking at the cake with city behind you I was on the left side.
Caught 12 baby snappers all legal but put them right back.
Had the palormaster jig? is that how it's pronounced? You guys know 2 knots on the leader hanging out. first time I have tried it and it went off!!!! had a small flounder and baby snapper on the line during the 3 hours spent there.
After biting stopped went across to what I think is Sow and Pigs....quite a few markers not that far past the cake maybe 100 or so mtrs...am I correct? Nothing was happening there after an hr.
So headed back upstream stopped at Clifton Gardens...nothing after an hr.
Stopped at Cockatoo Island nothing...went across to Clarkes Point with in a few mins my rod went ape sh#t!!!! man the one that got away!!!!
What ever it was it must of been huge by the way my rod bent or it must of had a big head and sharp teeth cos my top knot on palomaster? was sheard off!!!!!
Caught 6 bream 4 under 2 27cm all back in water.
2:30pm time to go home :-(
What a fine day it was :-)
Bait was pillchards, frozen squid, Pillchards went off!!!!

Cheers
Alfie

Its pronounced paternoster. Sounds like you did alright. You need to read a lot more books and mags. Learn how to target one particular species and target that species only with a plan before you even hit the water. Also learn how to catch fresh bait and your fishing will increase ten fold.

Hey Quintrex

They were deff not bream. They were orangish with bluish spots and I should've taken some pics just to show. I thought they were juvenile snapper.
Maybe I should've taken them home for dinner but I guess I like my fish to be at least 5cm bigger than legal.
Now that you have said it yes it would've made a nice dinner :-)

Bass flicker.....yes mate so much to learn mate thank you for your advise. Maybe some of you would like to join me on the boat one day to fish and learn :-)

30cm is way too small for snapper IMO, they're still babies at that size. The sooner it's bumped up to 35-40cm the better, we'll have better stocks for it.

I agree with u mate 150% that is why I released them :-)
Gets me really angry when some cultures (human beings) take small fish to make soup. I report them staright away to the rangers if I see them.
